In-line type mechanical property measurement device [IMPOC]
In-line type mechanical property measurement device [IMPOC]

The IMPOC is an innovative measurement device that utilizes electromagnetic induction to continuously perform non-destructive, in-line measurements of the mechanical strength of thin steel strips.
The device allows continuous strength measurements along the entire length of steel strips, thus leading to dramatically enhanced quality management.
This contributes not only to improvements in quality at steel works but also to greater efficiency of production processes for steel strip users.
Features
Conventional measurement of material strength only provided partial strength measurements because the required samples could not be taken over the entire length of a steel strip.
Continuous measurements with IMPOC enable the users to identify any changes in the mechanical strength over the entire length of a steel strip, so that you can improve quality by providing feedback to previous production processes, and enhance the level of control over steel strips by separating parts with defective strength or taking high and low strengths into consideration.
In addition, steel strip users can reduce any down time because the strength of the entire steel strip is inspected.
